DR RAY PRITCHARD, radio pastor of Keep On believing, has scheduled his first radio program into China on March 26 at 7 p.m. China time. He is asking for 1,000 people to pray with him at 6:00 am Central time. His translated message will be on the subject of “When Grace and Wrath Meet” from Romans 3:24-26. Dr. Pritchard is a well-known pastor with a powerful message.
Pray for this new venture of faith as this broadcast will begin to blanket the nation. Thousands could come to a knowledge of Christ.
Join in prayer every day and especially as the first broadcast starts on March 26th.
DALAT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL just completed a week of Missions Emphasis. Jonathan Bollback reports the moving of the Holy Spirit on the daily chapels which are compulsory for all students, and on the 300 plus people who gathered voluntarily for the evening sessions. Each night students stayed to seek counsel and to pray. Dorm students committed to starting student-led prayer meetings in their dorms. On the closing night of dedication many stayed to pray and make a new commitment of their lives to Christ and His kingdom. Requests for baptism has resulted in plans for a service in April. The spiritual temperature has risen perceptibly among most of the students, but approximately 150 non- Christian students from many countries did not attend the voluntary evening services. PRAY for these young people who need Christ.
EACH MONTH OUR GOAL IS to send some scholarship funds for Monkue to remain in the International School in Xining. His parents are messengers sent out by their church from a country bordering China to their north to be witnesses to the long-time resistant Tibetans in West China. This family is following the B2J principles of devoting their lives to planting churches westward through the Muslim and Buddhist lands of the region.
Your prayers and support are urgently needed to keep this witness alive and well.
PRAY for their protection.
CONSTRUCTION OF A YOUTH CENTER on the Thai/Laos border on a direct highway from China, was recently completed and the dedication service held in February. One of the key motivators for this unusual project is Dr. JB who has devoted his life to reaching people with the life-giving message of Jesus. Two Thai universities, built especially to attract Chinese who can easily enter the country, will give the Center access to key young people who can be reached for Christ. Some Christian faculty members are already engaged in Center activities that are attracting increasing numbers of students. The goal is to touch Chinese young people with a variety of activities, Bible study and counseling sessions, and friendship building gatherings that will result in many becoming followers of Christ. These transformed lives will impact China as they return to their homeland to become government officials, key businessmen and teachers. Since it is generally impossible to have this kind of Center in China, this project is often referred to as “back door evangelism”— reaching young people outside China and training them to become pastors and leaders in the exploding church in China.
- PRAY for the leadership to be able to effectively reach hundreds of students.
- PRAY for the leaders of Bible Study groups, counseling sessions, and conversation groups to be used of God to see life-change in hundreds of students.
- PRAY for the necessary funds to carry on this ministry.
DAVE PARSHALL, SERVING WITH OMF in Manila is involved with several exciting and fruitful training ministries. The Parshall home is the site of an important experiment providing training to young Chinese believers that will prepare them to go out and plant churches wherever God leads. About one dozen students live with the Parshalls and are not only instructed in the theory of church planting, but they observe it 24 hours a day.
Pray for Dave and Susan and this ministry that could become very exhausting.
Dave recently spoke to more than 100 seminary students in the area about his second major burden– reaching the one million Chinese workers now living in Africa. At least 12 young people expressed a desire to go to Africa to reach their fellow countrymen, and several expressed a desire to be included in Jonathan House in the near future.
Church In China, Inc was able to send a financial gift to both Dave and to the Xining School through the generosity of God’s people who have a heart for China. All gifts to CIC are tax-deductible and each one is gratefully received and used for the urgent need of expanding God’s kingdom in the concept of BACK 2 JERUSALEM.
Word has been received from friends at an International School in West China we have reported on for several months, that there is an urgent need for prayer coverage during March. Restrictions on house churches with foreign connections have been announced. This reliable report calls us to pray for God’s protection on the school administration,
staff and student body.
PLEASE call friends together and pray earnestly for this delicate situation that could affect many international workers in the area. The problem does not directly affect the school but rather the large resident expatriate population. Many have legitimate businesses but also may be involved in various forms of outreach.
PRAY for wisdom and protection.
PRAY that nothing will affect the school that rents the building.
PRAY for protection for all personnel located there.
For security reasons, the exact location is not being revealed.
Brother Mao lives in the southwest corner of Hubei province and is from one of the 56 minority people groups known as the Tujia. One day in 1999, he noticed the church pictured here close by the restaurant where he worked, and he became curious, thinking “I’d like to know more about Christianity.” After attending for almost a year, he accepted Jesus as his Savior and enrolled in a two-month discipleship course, and then the church’s one-year training program. He convinced his father to sell the family house so they could invest in cutting-edge farming projects to make money quickly so he could support himself when he became a pastor. After four years of failure, trying one scheme after another, Brother Mao was mad at God. Under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, his wife told him that the problem wasn’t with God, but with what they themselves had done. She said they needed to get down on their knees and repent. All those business ventures had been for their own benefit. They’d left God out of the picture. Finally, he cried out to God for forgiveness for his self-centered attitude and testified that his losses were really God’s blessing because he learned how to trust God in every situation. Last January, he finished the two-year training program at the Hubei provincial training center, one of the Bible School projects supported with gifts to Church In China, Inc.
Thank God, our international worker who had been working with Brother Mao was able to assist him with his final bill from contributions received from Church In China, Inc and other friends. He will soon be the first ordained Tujia pastor in Hubei. Pray for God’s blessing.
In the past, CHINA CLIPPINGS has been a monthly four page publication, but with busy schedules it has been decided to send out a two-page letter twice a month. By doing this, it will be possible to bring you the China news more quickly while at the same time reducing the time needed to read this publication. Our mailing list has grown to more than 4,500 committed readers who are praying for China and the requests listed, and many are sending monthly contributions to support the projects.
Thank you for your great support even in difficult financial times. All gifts to Church In China, Inc are tax deductible. Pray over your part in the harvest and see which project God leads you to support.
The American Bible Society Good News brochure for June/July reports the thrilling story of Ma Liqin who is learning to lean on God’s Word for every decision of her life. At age 17 she passed the exam to enter Bible School but then ran into the opposition of her family. “You are needed on the farm; let others go to Bible School.” If she insisted on school, her parents told her she could not depend on them for any help. Ma received a Bible in her own language from the Bible Society and was thrilled to read the wonderful promises of God that all seemed to apply to her! Psalm 23 was especially used of God to assure her that even though her parents could not help her with expenses, He was all she needed. Ma went to Bible School leaning on Psalm 23, and she reports that never in all her years as a Christian have the promises been so real. “Since I started attending the Bible Training Center, God’s favor has been upon me,” she reports with great joy.
Church In China, Inc provides funds for Bibles, digital Bibles for pastors and students, and does everything possible to reach thirsty people with the life-giving promises of the Word of God. As God leads, join us in providing the needed funds to change lives.

Triumph of the Good News
“ITS OFFICIAL,” announces the May 2011 OMF periodical Global Chinese Ministries. For years the Three Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) has issued official statements indicating that their membership is in the range of 23 million believers. That in itself is amazing when we remember that in 1949 there were only about one million baptized believers. Keep in mind that the House Church members have never been included. Their membership is conservatively estimated to be 80% higher than the TSPM membership, bringing the total to well over 100 million.
LAST SUMMER a book was openly published by the China Social Sciences Publishing House which made some startling adjustments in the official figures. Their research indicates that there may be as many as 50-70 million believers in the TSPM registered churches! Add the House Church members to that and it is not difficult to believe that there could be as many as 130 million believers in China today! Some of the researchers believe in the next 50 years the Christian population could explode to as many as 2-300 million! The triumph of the Good News is without question one of the most remarkable stories of the century.
This research was apparently done for the government that finds it difficult to cope with such an uncontrollable phenomenon. The major recommendation in the book calls on the government to bring this uncontrollable growth under control by policies and legal management, as well as ideological education. An ominous statement suggests that the government must “strengthen the Chinese race’s national pride and self-confidence.” It is noteworthy to remember that in recent months the government has not only tolerated but promoted Confucianism and Buddhism as opposed to Christianity. Besides, in the last six months the government announced that the chief task of the State Administration for Religious Affairs throughout 2011 is to “encourage” all house church Christians to attend TSPM registered churches. The number of incidents involving opposition to house churches is on the increase and serious problems seem to be ahead.
The call to prayer has never been more urgent for all believers, and especially house church believers, who will be facing increasing persecution and pressure from the government.
Coping With the Challenges
PERSECUTION AND PRESSURE, explosive growth, the need for trained leadership, Bibles and church buildings is unprecedented. Here’s how you can help.
Make these items special prayer projects personally and at your church. Encourage everyone to subscribe to this e-letter and forward to all prayer warriors
PRAYER: Church In China, Inc has an urgent need for funds to meet all the challenges, BUT more important than anything else is prayer! We can manage without funds but we cannot manage without prayer. Lay these requests before the Lord and intercede on behalf of the millions still living in darkness.
TRAINING WORKERS: Explosive growth is taking place in China with more than one million coming to Christ every year. The task of preparing trained leadership is of primary importance. Hundreds of young people are in training to become pastors, elders, Bible women, missionaries for Back to Jerusalem, and Sunday School teachers. God may lay it on your heart to give funds for these projects. Listen to His voice and contribute to Church in China, Inc. All gifts are tax-deductible.
BIBLE DISTRIBUTION is one of the most urgent challenges of Church In China, Inc. We are committed to getting as many Bibles into China as possible, and one of the most effective means is through the digital Bible CDs which contain the entire Bible in Chinese plus 170 devotional books. This virtual library for pastors and Bible School students is transforming their ministries. The cost of a CD is $2.00 plus an additional $2-3 for mailing overseas. One of our contacts is actually duplicating the CDs in China at 1/3rd of the cost. Community Alliance Church in Winter Springs, Florida where son Jonathan serves as pastor, set a goal to purchase 100. They reached 104! Pray that thousands of these CDs will reach China.
BUILDINGS: Near the end of January some international workers were able to help the “HC” Church in central Hubei reach out to the poor people of their area to express God’s love. They provided the funds so the church could do a “Big Five” distribution of 5 kilo rice, 5 liter cooking oil, 5 jin (6½ lb.) of pork, 5 lb. of sugar and 5 lb. of flour, along with eggs and fresh fish. The government helped select the poorest families, and 43 families, regardless of their faith, received this help to make their Chinese New Year a happy time! This church has land and is ready to build but they are still in the process of raising the needed funds. Please pray for God to provide so that they can begin building soon. send contributions for “HC Church.”
Responding to the Challenge
Jonathan Bollback has served on the Board of CIC as well as treasurer since its inception four years ago. He and his wife Julia sense God’s leading to return to Dalat International School as the Director of Spiritual Life for the 400+ student body. His dedication and expertise has been invaluable to the growth of Church In China, Inc and it goes without saying that he will be greatly missed, but obedience to the call of God is more important. God has already provided a good replacement by sending us Dave Peters to be our book keeper. Gifts to assist with moving expenses may be sent in care of the Editor’s address, but please note that a tax-deductible receipt cannot be issued and should not be sent in the name of Church In China, Inc.
